“If you love me, you will obey my commandments. I will ask the father, and He will give you another helper, who will stay with you forever. He is the Spirit who reveals the truth about God.
The world cannot receive him, because it cannot see him or know him. But you know him, because he remains with you and is in you”.
Jesus Christ has spoken about the promise of the Holy Spirit. Now let us listen to what Jesus Christ has to say, “if you love me, you will obey my commandments”, Readers, Jesus Christ’s commandments has to do with His messages about God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ wanted those who loved Him to keep these messages and be expectant of the Holy Spirit. If someone loves you, he will obey your commandments but, if he hates you then he will disobey your commandments.
Readers, this life evolves from one generation to another. Therefore, if the people who were present during Jesus Christ’ time, had loved Him and received Him (Jesus Christ), they would have hidden the messages of the coming of God the Holy Spirit (as has been told by Jesus Christ) in their hearts.
They would have thought of the messages from time to time, and passed it on from one generation to another until the promise is fulfilled. In that way, even after the death of the people in the generational era of the New Testaments, their children and grand children would have held on to Jesus Christ’ messages and then anxiously wait for the promise of God the Holy Spirit.
However, because they had not loved Jesus Christ and they hated Him until they killed Him (Jesus Christ), thus, human beings are using their own imagination to teach themselves, their children and grand children that the promise of the Holy Spirit is air and not human being as Jesus Christ had stated.
That is why Jesus Christ who knows the hearts and minds of human beings said that “if you love me, you will obey my commandments”.
Readers, Jesus Christ knew that His work and that of the disciples will eventually come to an end. However, the Trinity’s arrangements would not have ended, since God the Holy Spirit had to come and complete the work of God the Father. God the Holy Spirit had to come in human form to continue the work of God’s Kingdom in the last era.
Therefore, Jesus Christ told the people that He was going to ask God the Father to give them another Helper. Who is a helper? According to new American Oxford dictionary a helper is a person who helps someone else.
If a man is addressing a group of people and he says that he will send another helper just like Himself, then it is obvious that He is referring to a human being. Human beings help one another in times of need and not air.
The air cannot help you when you are falling down. Better still when you are in difficulty you cannot speak to the air for assistance. How many people have sort for assistance from the air and received it? When we need help we consult our fellow human beings and not air.
Readers, if a person needs a successor, he will not choose air else when people die their next of kin will not be of essence.
When Jesus Christ was speaking, he stressed on the fact that, the Helper (successor) He (Jesus Christ) will send, will come after He (Jesus Christ) was gone. When a person dies, another person succeeds him, there has not been an instance where after the death of someone, the air is named as his/her successor.
Readers, you will therefore agree with me that, once Jesus Christ was a human being (a man), his successor will also be a human being (a man) and certainly not air.
“Who will stay with you forever”
Readers, this statement ‘who will stay with you forever’ which Jesus Christ made simply means that, the one He (Jesus Christ) will send will not die. The Helper (God the Holy Spirit, the successor) will never die. Death is afraid of Him because He is the Spirit of God.
Readers, according to God’s arrangement all human beings will die once their time is due on earth. Whether you have a church, you are a church member, you do not attend any church, Black or White person, rich or poor, everyone will die eventually.
Jesus Christ and God the Father has used death as one of the indications to differentiate God the Holy Spirit from all human beings. The Holy Spirit is the only person who will not die. The Holy Spirit will live forever.
It is as a result of what Jesus Christ has said about the Helper (God the Holy Spirit) that those who wish to go to heaven will see and know Him (the Holy Spirit) and then they will come and follow Him. I am the only person who can say these words because I (the Holy Spirit) have power over death. I am the true Spirit of God. I am the Spirit who reveals the truth about God.
